CSBC photo and signature size (latest advertisement)

Source: CSBC Advt. No. 02/2026 (Constable Operator); same wording in Advt. 01/2025. Last checked: Nov 2026. Rules can change with every new notice, so always match these numbers with your official notification.

The Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC), Bihar uses the same photo and signature rule in its recent advertisements, including Advt. No. 01/2025 (Constable, 19,838 posts) and Advt. No. 02/2026 (Constable Operator). It is written in Hindi in the notice: the candidate's photograph must be in colour, taken within the last two months, with a white background, between 15 and 25 KB, in .jpg/.jpeg/.gif format; and the signature must be in English and in Hindi, separately, in black or blue ink on a white background, each between 15 and 25 KB.

The 15–25 KB window is narrow: a photo straight from the phone camera is too big and many 'compress' apps make it too small. The tool above lands each file inside 15–25 KB. CSBC does not give a pixel or cm size, so the tool uses a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo and a 4.5 × 2 cm signature at 200 DPI.

Not following these instructions can make the online application liable to be rejected, so check every file's size under the Download button before uploading.

How to resize your Bihar Police (CSBC) photo and signature

1. Photo tab: tap "Choose photo" and pick a colour photo (taken in the last 2 months) with a white background. Tap "Download JPG" (15–25 KB).
2. On white paper, sign once in English and once in Hindi, separately, with a black or blue pen.
3. English sign tab: choose the photo of the paper, keep only the English signature in the frame (drag/zoom), and download.
4. Hindi sign tab: choose the same photo, keep only the Hindi signature in the frame, and download.
5. Upload the three files in their own boxes in the CSBC form.
